A 31-year-old man is accused of drunkenly slaying his wife during an Uber ride in Seattle and then passing out in some bushes, according to a report.
When he woke, Cameron Espitia said he did not remember the shooting and told police “he was not having a good night with his wife,” the Seattle Times reported, citing court documents.
Espitia, a former member of the U.S. Coast Guard, was then arrested for the death of his 29-year-old wife, Jennifer Espitia.
An Uber driver ferrying the couple in the Queen Anne neighborhood told police the couple had been bickering. The 29-year-old woman was sitting in the front when Espitia opened fire from the backseat, according to those court records.
The driver, who was not identified, heard the gunshot and saw Espitia’s wife slump over in the seat. Believing he would be the next victim, he reportedly asked the gun-toting passenger where he would like to go.
The driver called police after dropping off Espitia a short time later.
The suspect wandered another six blocks before falling asleep in some bushes, the Times reported. Cops found him in the shrubbery with a pistol tucked into an ankle holster.Read More...
