Miley Cyrus earns her first No. 1 on Billboard's Dance Club Songs chart (dated Aug. 12), as "Malibu" rises 3-1. Originally a rootsy-leaning pop track, the song was remixed by Alan Walker, Dillon Francis and Lost Frequencies, among others.
"Malibu" is Cyrus' fifth chart hit, but first top 10, as well as her first No. 1. She first reached the chart in 2009 with the No. 44-peaking "Party in the U.S.A." In 2013, she returned with "We Can't Stop" (No. 34) and "Wrecking Ball" (No. 15), while 2014 brought "Adore You" (No. 42).
"Malibu" reached No. 19 on Dance/Mix Show Airplay in July. Cyrus has also tallied five entries on that chart, including the top 10 "Party." On the Billboard Hot 100, "Malibu" became Cyrus' ninth top 10 (including one billed as by her former Disney alter ego Hannah Montana) in June.
I HEAR A … Clean Bandit earns its third top 10 on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs with "Symphony," featuring Zara Larsson (11-10). The song sold 11,000 downloads (up 18 percent) and racked up 5 million U.S. streams in the tracking week, according to Nielsen Music. "Symphony" is the follow-up to "Rockabye" (featuring Sean Paul and Anne-Marie), which peaked at No. 2 in March. "Symphony" is the second top 10 for Larsson, who spent three weeks at No. 1 in April 2016 with "Never Forget You" (Zara Larsson and MNEK).
'FEELS' No. 1: Calvin Harris hikes 2-1 on Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales with "Feels," featuring Pharrell Williams, Katy Perry and Big Sean (26,000, up 6 percent). Harris scores his fourth topper, tying Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga for fourth place for the most in the chart's history (which dates to 2010). The only acts with more No. 1s are The Chainsmokers and Nicki Minaj (six each) and David Guetta (five).
"Feels" is the second Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales No. 1 for Williams, who relished in 12 weeks at the top in 2013 as featured on Daft Punk's "Get Lucky." "Feels" is the first leader on the list each for Perry and Big Sean.
"Feels" also flies 19-8 on Dance/Mix Show Airplay, marking the 15th top 10 for both Harris and Perry. They trail only another DJ/singer combo, David Guetta and Rihanna, who lead all acts with 24 top 10s apiece in the chart's 14-year history. "Feels" is the fifth top 10 on the chart for Williams and the second for Big Sean.Read More...
