The world’s first crow café came to the capital on Easter Sunday, much to the delight of the Londoners who dropped by.
Actress Billie Piper was among hundreds of people who visited the café on the eighth floor of Off Quay in Tower Hamlets on Sunday afternoon.
The café is the brainchild of 61-year-old Trevor Smith, who teamed up Charlie Gilmour in an effort to improve the bad PR that crows often receive.
Mr Smith has shared his life - and home - with crows since the age of six, while Mr Gilmour helped rescue a baby magpie last year, which now lives with him.
Mr Gilmour told the Standard: “Crows are incredibly beautiful, clever, fascinating creatures, and this event was an effort to do some good PR for them.”
The corvids who attended the event included Mr Smith’s crow Yum Yum, a rook called Gilbert, another crow called Charlie and a raven called Elijah.
Many satisfied customers took to social media on Sunday to express their delight at visiting the café.
One Twitter user said “such a nice and weird afternoon”, while another added it was “a fun and interesting way to spend Easter Sunday”.
Another said: “Hanging out with crows today at the Crow Café.”

They're good birds, Jim
As well as meeting the birds, attendees were also able to enjoy complimentary crow-shaped snacks and buy refreshing drinks and suitably Gothic Easter treats from the crow bar.
Thousands of pounds were raised which will be donated to wildlife charity Folly Wildlife Rescue to help crows and other creatures too.
